Title:IT Support
Location:Both East and West Retail Stores
Schedule:FT, up to 40 hours per week

The Willy Street Co-op, designated "Best Place to Work" in 2012 by Madison Magazine, is a natural foods cooperative with locations in both Madison and Middleton.  We are looking for an IT Support Person to work full time; up to 40 hours per week.  Ideally this person will have reliable transportation and be available to work at both of our retail locations; Willy Street in Madison and University Avenue in Middleton.  An acute attention to detail, excellent sense of organization and follow through on commitments, excellent communication skills, comfortable working with Word, email, internet, and experience in the use of computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases and  are all required qualifications. Experience with multiple OS platforms (OS X, Windows, Linux) and established experience in assisting non-technical staff on IT-related matters preferred.

Job Title: Information Technology Support



To provide first level set-up and support of the Co-op’s information systems



Hourly position, up to 40 hours per week


Essential Functions


1. Computer Systems

  • Perform front line tech support for staff
  • Assist with new user orientation and training
  • Be familiar with IT related tools used by all staff on site
  • Perform basic trouble-shooting and work with IT when problems arise.
  • Help configure systems or software as needed. Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  • Install and test new equipment

2. Miscellaneous

  • Participate in co-worker evaluations.
  • Orient and be helpful to new employees.
  • Set a positive example for co-workers.
  • Accept other duties as assigned by General Manager.


  • Command of multiple desktop computing environments and typical office applications, particularly the latest versions of Windows and Macintosh OS X.
  • Ability to quickly learn technologies and skills.
  • Ability to train others in the use of technology.
  • Accuracy and scrupulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the use of computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience with setup, maintenance, and use of multiple computer operating systems, primarily MAC and PC.
  • Basic understand of the cooperative movement and principles
